COVID 19 Pandemic Relief Project, was launched yesterday (20-5-2020) under the patronage of Deputy Chief Commissioner & Member of World Scout Committee, Attorney at Law Janaprith Fernando at the Colombo District Headquarters premises and today (21-5-2020) Chief Commissioner Major General Milinda Peiris joined with occasion of distributing relief packages to representatives of the chosen districts where large number of affected Scout families lives.

The humanitarian project organized by Sri Lanka Scout Association with the financial assistance of World Scout Bureau, carried out under the supervision of DCC & Member of WSC Attorney at Law Janaprith Fernando & Leadership of NHQ Commissioner Mr. Kapila Kumara.

Asst. District Commissioners, Scout Masters, Rovers and Volunteers played a commendable role by making packages, unloading and loading activities in these difficult social conditions of COVID19.

As Sri Lankan Scouts, we should thank WSB of WOSM for helping us in this crucial situation and making things possible to overcome the obstacles.

2nd Step – District Level Project

The COVID 19 Epidemic Relief Project District Level Step was launched 21st May 2020 with participation of National Head Quarters Commissioner Mrs. Renuka Silva, The District Commissioner Mr. H.D.Gunathilake, Mr. Namal Gurusinghe (ADC -Training), Mr. T. C. R. Wijayasekara (ADC – Scouting), Mrs. Padmini Hemamala (ADC – Girls in Scouting), Mr. Kasun Wijayasekara (ADC – Media and Public Relations), Mrs. Nishanthi Thotagamuwa (ADC – Kalutara), Mr. Nuwan Jeewantha (ADC – Beruwala), Mr. Shashindra Dissanayake (District Scout Master) and Scout Leaders and 45 Scouts at Holy Cross College – Kalutara.
